--制作意図--

トイレという場所のための、インスタレーションとして制作。
知識を身につけていく過程で、私達は無意識・意識的にかかわらず、多くの情報を受け入れ、共有出来る観念の認識を持って、社会生活に順応していく。
知識は、他者とのコミュニケーションの潤滑油となるが、「知識と知性」・「先入観念と観念」を同義語化してしまいがちであり、円滑を望むコミュニケーションに、しばしば誤解を生じさせてしまうことがある。それは「年齢のずれ」ではなく、「知識のずれ」「時間軸のずれ」を感じさせる。
何故、わざわざ「のぞく行為を拒否する」トイレと言う場所を選んだのかと言えば、公共の場でありながら、そこは個室であり、決して他者との交流を望んだり、踏み込んだりできない、唯一じぶんに素直になれる、秘めた場所だからである。
この『のぞきあな』は、じぶんをのぞく『穴』である。

--形態--

染色したピンクの椀の底に、レンズをはめ込みのぞき口としている。
各々に、違う文字のはいったプレートをつける。

『のぞきあな』

こどものころから「のぞきあな」がすきだった。
近所の空き地の壁などに隙間があれば、かならずのぞいた。
そこに見えるのは、おもわぬ至近距離でゆれているペンペン草だったり、犬の脱糞だったり、別段なんてことのない砂山だったりした。あらかじめ、のぞく前に壁の向う側の風景をわかっていたとしても、のぞくだけで納得し、違う雰囲気をたのしんでいたのだと思う。
「のぞく」という行為は、のぞく前の想像とわくわく感がたまらない。
下心や出歯亀なんていう、ボキャブラリーなど無い子供時代に、流れ行く雲や野の花を、飽きるまで眺めた事はなかっただろうか。わたしたちは、くだらない知識を持ちすぎてやしないだろうか。
のぞいていい「あな」と、のぞいてはいけない「あな」は、なんとなく見当がつく。それは、ある種の感が働くからだ。でもここに、のぞかれるための「あな」がある。
「ここからすごいものが見えるぜ」と悪友にそそのかされ、いやな予感を察しながらものぞき見ると、案の定たいしたもの等見えず、そのかわり、目のまわりにまるくべったりと黒い墨のおまけがついてくる。そんなものがつくりたかった。
ぜひ、のぞいてください。そしてがっかりしたり、わらったりしてください。そして、のぞいた先にひっかっかている、ほんのすこしの「なぞなぞ」を、たのしんでください。

　Purpose
Installation for the toilet
In the process to get more knowledge, we accept a lot of information consciously or unconsciously,
We adapt ourselves to the society with recognition of the idea which we can share.
The knowledge can be a lubricant in the communication but people tend to be confused with
'knowledge and intelligence', 'idea and preconception' and this confusion causes some
misunderstandings in the smooth conversation. That is not generation gap, that could be
knowledge gaps or time gaps
Why I chose the toilet to deny the act to peep is, it is an official place but also private room, we
never want any communication, never be disturbed, the only place you can be yourself, it is your
own secret place. This peephole is the hole you peep yourself.

peephole

I like peephole since I was child.
I had to check if I find the peephole like on the wall in the park.
I always found something like point-blank range shepherd's purse, feces of a dog or boring sand mountain.
Even if I knew what I would see, I enjoyed and satisfied by peeping.
The act to peep including excitement and imagination before you peep.
Have you ever see the cloud floating in the sky or a flower in the field till you got bored in your childhood when didn't know such as secret desire or confirmed criminal of peep.
Don't we have too many useless knowledge?
We can tell the hole we are allowed to peep or not by instinct.
But there is a hole to prepare to be peeped.
Bad friend told you there is amazing view through this hole, I have strange feeling about it then tried , nothing much special there, but I have got black mark around my eyes instead, something like that I like to make.
Please peep, laugh and disappointed and enjoy the question hanging in the peephole.
